On Saturday 6th May JCI Manchester and MTSG completed their 4th 3 Peaks Training Walk which this time was up Helvelyn. The third highest peak in England.

This is one of the most challenging walks in the Lakes and a real test for anyone, particularly when taking on the always daunting Striding Edge.

Conditions were less than perfect with winds picking up as the walk progressed. Not ideal when you’re walking along something that from a distance looks like a knife edge!

I’m glad to say that all participants completed the very technically difficult walk successfully, which is a fantastic achievement given the very mixed ability of walkers we had.

Our next walk is up Snowdon over the bank holiday weekend. Another classic and one of the Peaks that features on the challenge!
